Main ingredients

  • 3 large large apples (your choice of variety) Sweet varieties like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala are recommended.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or sweetener of choice
  • 2 large eggs Beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil For crispiness

Preparation

  • Wash and dry the apples. Cut them into wedges, removing the core and seeds.
  • Prepare the breading station: In one bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, and sugar. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  • Dip each apple wedge first in the flour mixture, shake off excess, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking spray or brush with olive oil.
  • Fry the apple wedges for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the basket and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
