  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness of bananas.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Optional, use your favorite nuts.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth with some chunks.
  • Add melted butter and mix until well combined.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and mix again.
  • Add sugar and egg, mixing thoroughly.
  • Sprinkle baking soda and salt, then fold in flour until just combined.
  • Add nuts and cinnamon if desired, folding gently.

Cooking

  • Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Grease an air fryer-safe cake pan or line with parchment paper. Pour in the batter.
  • Cook in the air fryer for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Once cooked, let the cake cool on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes before serving.
