Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Thighs yield juicier results than breasts.
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large eggs Beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For brushing the air fryer basket

For the bang bang sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha Adjust to taste for spiciness.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

For garnish

  • Chopped green onions For garnishing before serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Place the breadcrumbs in another bowl.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, coat completely, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly brush the air fryer basket with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other.
  • Cook for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even browning.

Making the sauce

  • While the chicken cooks, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice in a bowl to create the bang bang sauce.

Serving

  • Once the chicken is cooked and crispy, transfer it to a serving dish and drizzle with the bang bang sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
