For the Cauliflower

  • 1 large head cauliflower Cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free if needed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Or a gluten-free substitute
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for heat preference
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Fresh parsley For garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Remove leaves and stem from the cauliflower, then cut the head into uniform bite-sized florets.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Gradually add water until the mixture achieves a smooth batter consistency.
  • In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs, optionally adding a pinch of salt and some spices for extra flavor.
  • Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, coating thoroughly, then transfer to the breadcrumbs and coat evenly. Shake off any excess.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange the coated cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding for optimal crispiness.
  • Air fry for about 12-15 minutes or until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  • While the cauliflower cooks, heat the buffalo sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Once done, remove the cauliflower from the air fryer and toss in the warm buffalo sauce until well coated.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Adjust the spice level of the buffalo sauce to suit your taste. Serve with veggie sticks or your favorite dip for balance against the heat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
