Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 cup plant-based milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Your favorite hot sauce (or BBQ sauce) for tossing to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse the cauliflower and remove the leaves. Cut it into bite-sized florets.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Slowly add the plant-based milk to the dry ingredients while whisking until you achieve a smooth batter.

Cooking

  • Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it’s completely coated.
  • Place the cauliflower wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
  • Cook the cauliflower wings for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they become golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the cooked wings into a large bowl. Toss them with your favorite hot sauce or BBQ sauce until well coated.
  • Return the sauced wings back to the air fryer for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce and enhance the flavor.

Serving

  • Let the wings cool slightly before serving. Arrange them on a platter and serve with a variety of dipping sauces and fresh veggie sticks.

Notes

To ensure even cooking, cut the cauliflower florets into similar sizes. For a thicker coating, dip the florets a second time in the batter before air frying. Allow wings to cool before storing in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days.
