Ingredients

For the Breading

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cheese curds
  • Cooking spray for crisping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by preheating your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Set up a breading station: place the flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and the breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
  • Take a cheese curd, dip it into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated, and shake off any excess flour.
  • Dip the floured curd into the beaten eggs, allowing any extra to drip off.
  • Coat the curd with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs well.

Cooking

  • Place the breaded cheese curds in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Lightly spray the curds with cooking spray.
  • Air fry them for about 6-8 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the cheese curds and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, ensure cheese curds are cold before breading. Consider pre-freezing them briefly if they are too soft. Serve with various dips such as marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or spicy mustard.
