  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for heat

Preparation

  • Begin by rinsing the chicken drumsticks under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, oregano, thyme, and cayenne pepper if using. Mix well to create a marinade.
  • Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl with the marinade. Use your hands to coat each piece evenly, ensuring all drumsticks are covered.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Ensure they do not touch each other for proper airflow.
  • Cook the chicken drumsticks for 25 to 30 minutes, turning them halfway through for even cooking. Check for doneness using a meat thermometer; the internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispy drumsticks, spray a light coat of oil halfway through cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days in the refrigerator or wrap and freeze for up to three months.
