Ingredients
  

For the Breading

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
  • to taste salt and pepper to taste
  • cooking spray or olive oil

For the Steak

  • 4 pieces beef cube steaks

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Set up your breading station with three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs mixed with buttermilk, and one for a mixture of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge each cube steak first in the plain flour, shaking off excess.
  • Dip it into the egg and buttermilk mixture, allowing the excess to drip off.
  • Coat it in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks well.

Cooking

  • Place the coated steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  • Spray the steaks lightly with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the steaks are golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Once done, remove the steaks and let them rest for a few minutes.

Notes
