  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to help achieve a crispier skin.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  • Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes, or refrigerate for up to an hour for deeper flavor.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the marinated chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there's space between each piece.
  • Cook the chicken for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read at least 165°F (74°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken thighs and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Choose bone-in, skin-on thighs for the best flavor and textures. Let the thighs marinate for at least 15 minutes, and do not overcrowd the air fryer.
