Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop or workspace.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, and mayonnaise. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.
  • Add the beaten egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Old Bay seasoning. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
  • Fold in the chopped green onions, red bell pepper, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Make sure the mixture is well combined.
  • Form the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter, yielding around 8-10 cakes.
  • Chill the formed crab cakes in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes for better shape retention while cooking.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the crab cakes in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch each other.
  • Air fry the crab cakes for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the crab cakes from the air fryer and serve hot.
