Preparation

  • Wash and peel the russet potatoes, removing any eyes or blemishes.
  • Cut the potatoes into thin, uniform strips to ensure even cooking.
  • Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and pat the potato strips dry with a kitchen towel.
  • Toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well-coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the seasoned potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the fries for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  • Remove the fries when they are golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, ketchup, or garlic aioli.
