  • 1 pound fresh okra Choose firm, vibrant green okra pods.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Or your preferred oil.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • a pinch cayenne pepper Optional for heat.

Preparation

  • Wash the fresh okra under cool running water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Trim the ends of the okra and cut them into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
  • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if desired). Mix until well combined.
  • Add the okra pieces to the bowl and toss them in the oil mixture until they are evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the seasoned okra in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket.
  • Cook the okra for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning.
  • Remove the okra from the fryer and let it cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
