  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Optional: ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper for extra heat Adjust for desired spice level.

Preparation

  • Start by draining and rinsing the chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium.
  • Pat the chickpeas dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to ensure they become crispy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chickpeas, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Once preheated, place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Cook the chickpeas for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even crispening.
  • Check frequently to avoid burning; they should be golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.
