Preparation

  • Peel the russet potatoes and rinse them under cold water to remove dirt.
  • Grate the potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  • Place the shredded potatoes in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the drained shredded potatoes with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and olive oil. Optionally, add chopped onions or bell peppers. Mix well.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Spread the potato mixture in an even layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.

Cooking

  • Cook the hash browns for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crispiness.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove the hash browns from the air fryer and serve hot.
