  • 2 large russet potatoes Peeled and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel the russet potatoes, then rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch.
  • Grate the potatoes using a box grater or a food processor and place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel, wringing out as much moisture as possible.
  • In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to ensure the potatoes are evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Spread the potato mixture in an even layer in the air fryer basket, keeping them in a single layer for optimal crispiness.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • After 10 minutes, check the hash browns. If they’re not golden brown and crispy yet, cook for an additional 5 minutes, checking frequently.
  • Carefully remove the hash browns from the air fryer, and enjoy them hot.

Notes

To achieve the perfect hash browns, remove as much moisture as possible from the grated potatoes and season well. Experiment with spices and toppings to suit your taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
