  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • to taste Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme), finely chopped (optional)
  • to taste Grated cheese (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water, scrubbing away any dirt, then pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Use a sharp knife to make thin, even slices across the potato, stopping about ¼ inch from the bottom to keep the slices connected.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add herbs if you want to infuse the flavor.
  • Brush the oil mixture over the potatoes, ensuring the mixture seeps into the sliced sections.
  • Place the prepared potatoes in the air fryer basket, potentially laying down parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Cooking

  • Cook the potatoes in the air fryer for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown and tender.
  • In the last few minutes of cooking, sprinkle cheese over the top if using, allowing it to melt and get bubbly.
  • Once done, carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
