Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed Ensure the butter is cold for flakiness.
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup your favorite add-ins (e.g., chocolate chips, dried fruit, nuts) Customize to your taste.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
  • Add the cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, and vanilla extract together.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. If you’re adding toppings, fold them in gently.
  • Turn the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough a couple of times until it holds together, being careful not to overwork it.
  • Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut it into wedges or use a round cutter for uniform shapes.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Arrange the scone pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the scones are golden brown on top.
  • Remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
