Preparation

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Peel them if preferred, but skin adds fiber and nutrients.
  • Slice the sweet potatoes into thin rounds about 1/8 inch thick using a knife or mandoline for crispiness.
  • In a large bowl, combine sweet potato slices with olive oil, salt, and any additional seasonings. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).

Cooking

  • Arrange sweet potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the chips for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crispiness.
  • Check for doneness; chips should be crispy and slightly golden. If not, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, monitoring closely.
  • Transfer cooked chips to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil and allow to cool before serving.
