For the wedges

  • 2 large sweet potatoes Washed and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional, for heat
  • to taste fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) For garnish, optional

Preparation

  • Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into uniform wedges, about 1-inch thick.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sweet potato wedges with olive oil and toss until coated.
  • Sprinkle salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) over the wedges and toss again to distribute evenly.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned sweet potato wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the wedges for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning.
  • Once golden and crispy, remove the wedges from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer brand and experiment with different spices and herbs for flavor variations.
