  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris. Peel them if you prefer.
  • Cut the sweet potatoes into wedges, aiming for uniform sizes of about 1-inch thick.
  • In a large bowl, combine olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Mix well.
  • Toss the sweet potato wedges in the bowl until they are evenly coated with the oil and spices.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Place the sweet potato wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Cook the wedges for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Once cooked, carefully remove the wedges from the air fryer. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.

Notes

To enhance crispiness, soak the wedges in cold water for at least 30 minutes and dry before seasoning. Experiment with different spices and adjust cooking times for thinner or thicker wedges.
