Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Alabama-style white barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for grilling

For Serving

  • 4 pieces soft sandwich rolls or buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and add a little cooking oil.

Cooking the Chicken

  • Grill the chicken for 6–8 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and an internal temperature of 165°F is reached.
  • Remove the chicken from the grill and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
  • Chop the grilled chicken into small pieces.

Assembly

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken with the Alabama-style white barbecue sauce.
  • Slice the sandwich rolls in half and spoon the BBQ chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each roll.
  • Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced pickles.
  • Place the top half of the roll on the sandwiches and serve immediately.
