  • 4 cups Diced Apples (Granny Smith or Fuji work great) Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.
  • 1 can Refrigerated Biscuit Dough (gluten-free option available) Check for gluten-free alternatives.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free option) Use melted for a better mix.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional for added flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans (optional for a crunchy texture)
  • 2 tablespoons Additional Brown Sugar (used as per taste)
  • 1/4 cup Caramel Sauce (optional for drizzling) Add for extra sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Dice the Granny Smith or Fuji apples into small, bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • Toss the diced apples in the sugar and cinnamon mixture until all pieces are well-coated.
  • Cut the refrigerated biscuit dough into quarters.
  • In another bowl, gently combine the quartered biscuit dough pieces with the apple mixture.
  • Melt the unsalted butter (or coconut oil) and pour it over the mixture.
  • Add pecans and vanilla extract if using, then combine gently.
  • Transfer the combined mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Place the casserole in your preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • The top should be golden brown and the biscuit dough should have risen perfectly.
  • Before serving, drizzle caramel sauce over the hot casserole if desired.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
