  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups peeled and chopped apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adjust based on taste preference.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and one egg until well combined.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust layer.

Filling

  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the remaining two eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, beating until smooth and creamy.
  • Fold in the peeled and chopped apples along with the cinnamon until the apples are evenly coated.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the apple mixture over the crust in the baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  • Allow the cake to cool for about 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
