Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium sweet apple, washed with peel on
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup (plus additional for taste)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (plus additional for serving)
  • Pinch ground nutmeg
  • Pinch ground allspice
  • Small handful ice

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry the apple, then slice it down the sides to remove the core. Cut the remaining sections into 1-inch chunks.
  • Add the apple chunks to the blender along with the almond milk, rolled oats, frozen banana, nut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  • Blend on high until completely smooth. Adjust the consistency with more almond milk if desired.
  • If you'd like a thicker texture, add a handful of ice and blend again.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness with additional maple syrup if needed.
  • Pour the smoothie into glasses and sprinkle with additional ground cinnamon for garnish if desired.
