Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a separate bowl, combine the applesauce, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Gently mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just combined.
Fold in any optional add-ins, being careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
