  • 1 cup milk Use whole milk for best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 2 lemons lemon zest Fresh zest enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed is recommended.
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, sugar, flour, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Use a whisk to mix the ingredients until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the lemon zest, fresh lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir until incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into a greased pie dish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is lightly golden and the center is set.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.

Serving

  • Once cooled, slice and serve the pie.
