  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Enhances flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar Provides sweetness.
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Provides structure.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor.

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar Base for the glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Adds tangy flavor.
  • 1-2 teaspoons water (adjust for glaze consistency) Add as needed.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel, core, and dice the apples, then toss them with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently combine the dry and wet mixtures, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the diced apples.
  • Spoon dollops of the batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Glazing

  • While the fritters bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and water until smooth.
  • Adjust the water to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.
