  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped Steam or blanch for 2-3 minutes before chopping.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use fresh or store-bought.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder for the ingredients.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil For greasing the baking sheet.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and coat it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Steam or blanch broccoli florets for about 2-3 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and chop finely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Cooking

  • Form the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Spray or brush the tops of the balls with cooking spray or olive oil for a crispy texture.
  • Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
