Banana Bread Brownies

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed The riper the bananas, the sweeter the brownies.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional.
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Optional, such as walnuts or pecans.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter until smooth.
  • Stir in the brown sugar until well combined, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and stir until incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

These brownies can be served warm or at room temperature. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or dusted with powdered sugar for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for about a week. Freeze for longer storage.
