sifted

salted butter

granulated sugar

light brown sugar

vanilla extract

eggs

overripe bananas
smashed (about 4 bananas)

chopped walnuts

vegetable shortening
for greasing pan
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mash the bananas in a small bowl until smooth and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Fold in the mashed bananas until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5 loaf pan and distribute evenly.
Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
Allow the bread to cool slightly on a cooling rack before slicing.
