For the Chocolate Cake

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups cocoa powder Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cups butter, softened Room temperature
  • 2 pieces eggs Room temperature
  • 1 cups milk Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Mousse

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Room temperature
  • 1 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups chocolate chips For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease your cake pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  • Add the softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool the cake completely on a wire rack.

Mousse Preparation

  • Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

Assembly and Chilling

  • Spread the mousse over the cooled chocolate cake ensuring an even layer.
  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Before serving, sprinkle chocolate chips on top for garnish.
