Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Mix-Ins

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips or colorful candy Choose your favorite type.
  • ½ cup sprinkles Colorful sprinkles preferred for decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips or colorful candy and sprinkles, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 9 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For better texture, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting. Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes can help achieve thicker cookies.
