  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

For Dusting

  • Powdered sugar powdered sugar for dusting Add after cookies have cooled.

  • In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next.
  • Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture until just combined.

Shaping and Baking

  • Roll small portions of dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Flatten each ball slightly and create decorative patterns if desired.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Watch closely to prevent over-baking.

Finishing Touches

  • Let cookies cool on a wire rack and dust generously with powdered sugar once cooled.
