Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced Use thinly sliced beef for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 4 cups bok choy, chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • to taste salt and pepper Add according to preference.

Optional serving

  • Cooked rice or noodles For serving.

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add the sliced beef and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  • Chop the bok choy and slice the red bell pepper while the beef marinates.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add more oil if necessary, then add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped bok choy and sliced red bell pepper. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet, mix everything, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for an additional minute to heat through before serving.

Notes

Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
