  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent dough
  • 1 pound boudin sausage, removed from casing
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened At room temperature for easier mixing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Colored sugar for decoration (purple, green, yellow)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth and evenly blended.
  • Roll out the crescent dough onto a clean surface and press the seams together to form a large rectangle.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Distribute the boudin sausage evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  • Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough into a log shape, ensuring the filling stays inside.
  • Shape the rolled dough into a ring and pinch the ends together to form a circle.
  • Place the ring on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the surface of the dough with the beaten egg to give it a golden finish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before decorating.
  • Sprinkle colored sugar over the top in a festive pattern.
