  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup matcha powder High-quality recommended
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma, about 5 to 7 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar, beating until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the white chocolate chips making sure they are evenly distributed.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly soft.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
