Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp is preferred for better flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the shrimp to the bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss well to coat all the shrimp evenly with the spice mixture.
  • Let the shrimp marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp just before serving, and sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.

Notes

Serve Cajun shrimp over rice, grits, or in tacos. Adjust cayenne for desired spice level.
