Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix vanilla or yellow works best
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. This ensures your banana bread won’t stick as it bakes.
  • Mash the bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. The more mashed they are, the more flavor they’ll bring to the bread.
  • Mix the wet ingredients: Add the eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Add the cake mix: Slowly pour in the cake mix and stir until the ingredients are fully incorporated. Be careful not to overmix—it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  • Pour into the pan: Transfer the batter into your prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake: Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 55-60 minutes. Start checking at 55 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. If it’s still gooey, give it a few more minutes.
  • Cool and enjoy: Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve!
