Main Ingredients

  • 1 can canned salmon (14.75 oz), drained and flaked Make sure to drain thoroughly to avoid excess moisture.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Regular or panko breadcrumbs can be used.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 2 large eggs Whisked.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Salt, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flaked canned salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and bell pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the salmon mixture. Stir until everything is well-coated and combined.
  • Season with salt to taste, mixing gently to avoid breaking up the salmon too much.
  • Form the mixture into patties, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet in batches, cooking until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the cooked patties and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Serve immediately or let cool before serving.

Notes

For better texture, allow the patties to rest in the refrigerator for a few minutes before frying. Adjust heat as needed while cooking.
