Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, making sure to space them out.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each mound of dough before baking.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain soft.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
