Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans) Use your preferred nuts for added flavor.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade can be used.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted and for mixing.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust sweetness if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor enhancement.
  • a pinch salt

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark) Choose your preference for the topping.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal and chopped nuts. Stir them together evenly and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and sugar together. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and golden.
  • Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat.
  • Pour the melted butter-sugar mixture over the cereal and nuts. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are coated evenly.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking dish to create an even layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  • In a separate bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled cereal mixture and spread it evenly.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce on top of the chocolate layer, using a knife or spatula to swirl it slightly for a marbled effect.
  • Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or in the refrigerator until fully set.
  • Once set, lift the bars out of the baking dish using the parchment overhang and cut into squares or rectangles.
