Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Softened but not melted.
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds richness and aroma.
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon For added warmth and flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Enhances all flavors.
  • 1 1/2 cup quick cooking oats For chewiness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use your favorite type of chocolate.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cream the softened butter, light brown sugar, and white sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the oats and chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough chills.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop the chilled dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 13 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers remain slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes
