  • 1 can chili (your preference) Choose spicy or mild based on taste.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend) A blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack works well.
  • 2 cups Fritos corn chips (classic, original flavor) Use for layering.

Optional Toppings

  • sour cream For serving.
  • chopped green onions For serving.
  • jalapeños For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Layer half of the Fritos corn chips at the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Spread the chili evenly over the Fritos, covering them completely.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the chili.
  • Layer the remaining Fritos over the cheese.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Add optional toppings like sour cream, chopped green onions, or jalapeños before serving.
