Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 8 oz spaghetti Cook according to package instructions.

Meat and Beans

  • 1 lb ground beef Cook until browned.
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans Drain and rinse before adding.

Vegetables

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Spices

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste salt and pepper

Tomatoes

  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then cook spaghetti according to package instructions, adding a pinch of salt.
  • Drain the spaghetti and set it aside.

Cooking

  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  • Stir in drained kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve spaghetti on plates and ladle chili mixture over the top. Add toppings like shredded cheese or sour cream as desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace the ground beef with black beans or lentils. You can also add more vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.
