whole milk recommended

Instructions
Slice the dried beef into bite-sized pieces.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in black pepper and cayenne pepper.
Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly until smooth and creamy.
Add the chopped dried beef and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately over toasted bread.
