Ingredients
  

  • 3 large overripe bananas mashed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips divided

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, egg, vanilla extract, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
  • Fold in the melted butter and ¾ cup of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
