  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown at the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an enhanced flavor, consider using good-quality chocolate chips and chilling the dough before baking. You can also slightly underbake the cookies for a softer texture.
