Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Measured accurately to avoid dense pancakes.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Beaten.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Can use additional butter or cooking spray for cooking.

Mix-ins

  • ½ cup chocolate chips Can substitute with dark or white chocolate chips.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones and stir until just combined; it's fine if there are a few lumps.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  • Pour a ladleful of batter for each pancake, cooking until bubbles form on the surface.
  • Flip the pancakes and cook until the other side is golden brown.
  • Repeat until all the batter is used and serve warm.
