Ingredients
  

For the cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for best results.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate recommended.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with the granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well.
  • Gradually sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, stirring slowly until a dough starts to form.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll small portions of the dough into 1-inch diameter balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Flatten each ball with your palm or the bottom of a glass.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
