  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips optional for extra richness
  • powdered sugar for dusting optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the cooled coffee, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, but don’t overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
